CMS recently announced the mailing of new Medicare cards to beneficiaries in Wave 3 states, including Kansas. To ensure no disruption in services to beneficiaries, providers and supplies can use either the former Social Security number-based HICN or the new alpha-numeric Medicare Beneficiary Identifier for all Medicare transactions through the transition period ending December 31, 2019.
